STN EN ISO 9001, quality management system

STN EN ISO 9001 specifies requirements for a quality management system in organisations that want and need to demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products in accordance with applicable regulations and customer requirements, and that aim to increase customer satisfaction. The basic requirement of the standard is to establish, document, implement and maintain a quality management system and continually improve it.

STN ISO 14001, environmental management

ISO 14001 specifies requirements for an environmental management system in organisations. It serves to manage and guide the organisation with regard to the quality of the environment and its sustainability. It applies to the environmental aspects of the activities, products and services that the organisation determines.

STN EN ISO 45001, occupational health and safety management

STN EN ISO 45001 (formerly OHSAS 18001) specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety management system. It helps organisations to prepare a policy and long-term objectives that take into account legal and other requirements and information on health and safety risks.

The certification procedure

1. 01

   Preparatory phase

   The head of the certification body appoints the audit team (lead auditor, auditor(s), technical expert(s)) responsible for carrying out the audit.

2. 02

   Certification audit, stage 1

   Audit and review of the documentation provided and of the ability to understand the requirements of the standard in relation to the client’s activity. A report is then drawn up with the findings and any deficiencies, which must be removed before the second stage is carried out.

3. 03

   Certification audit, stage 2

   An audit carried out at the customer’s premises, which must take place within six months of the first stage of the audit.

4. 04

   Surveillance audits

   Two surveillance audits are carried out during one certification cycle on the basis of the contract. At least one audit must be carried out per calendar year, within 10 to 12 months of the date of issue of the certificate.

5. 05

   Recertification

   The aim is to confirm the conformity and effectiveness of the management system before the certificate expires, with regard to the validity of the new certificate.

During this period, 1 certification audit and 2 surveillance audits will be carried out.

Complaints and appeals

Complaints and appeals are submitted in writing to VUIS – CESTY, spol. s r. o., Vlčie hrdlo 1, 821 07 Bratislava, or electronically to office@vuis-cesty.sk. The certification body must provide the person who submitted the complaint with an official report on the completion of the handling process.

Statement of impartiality

The company’s top management manages conflicts of interest and ensures the objectivity of its management system certification activities, including all staff involved in those activities, who are committed to impartiality. The company continuously identifies, analyses, evaluates and documents risks relating to conflicts of interest; where threats to impartiality exist, it eliminates or minimises them and documents the residual risk.

As a certification body, the company must not certify the quality management system of another certification body, must not offer or provide management system consultancy, and must not certify a management system for which it provided internal audits for at least two years after those audits ended.

Information on the use of the logo (mark)

The system certificate or the mark (logo) may only be used to advertise that system. Product-focused advertising is not permitted. The VUIS – CESTY, spol. s r. o. mark (logo) may only be used by an organisation holding a valid management system certificate granted by the company. After the certification cycle expires, the organisation must withdraw the mark from circulation.
